Maria (Mia) A. Thomas, Principal
Mia A. Thomas handles international and domestic clients for LarsonAllen. Deeply committed to giving back to her industry and community, Thomas is an active member of many boards and committees. Her positions and organizations include: Vice President of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) State Board of Governors, President for the FICPA Educational Foundation, Legislative Chair and Past President of the FICPA Central Florida Chapter (CFC), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Minority Initiatives Committee member, FICPA Attorney Relations task force member, FICPA High School Outreach Committee, and Financial Literacy Task Force.
Her numerous community activities include membership on the Board of Governors for the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Trustee for BusinessForce. She serves as Treasurer of the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund (HBIF), and on the National House of Hope Board.
Thomas was born in New York City, N.Y., moving to Central Florida at the age of four. She graduated from the University Of Central Florida School of Accounting with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and a minor in computer science.

Kate Fishers has been serving international clients for more than 13 years, earning an outstanding reputation in the global business community. Her responsibilities at LarsonAllen include providing international tax services and consultation to individuals, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, estates and trusts. She advises clients on domestic and international tax issues, including but not limited to: inbound and outbound business activity, business plans for E-2 visa applications, tax structuring, international gift and estate tax advisement, tax planning for working abroad, tax compliance and transfer studies. Fishers’ fluency in Danish and German are valuable assets in conducting business with LarsonAllen’s international clients.
Involved in a variety of a professional, civic and international organizations, Fishers is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the German American Business Chamber of Florida, the American Committees on Foreign Relations, Orlando chapter, and the Winter Park Rotary Club, and sits on the Executive Board of Directors for the Orlando Ballet.
Fishers graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida, and is a licensed CPA in the State of Florida.

Lorenzo J. Calise, Principal
With more than 25 years of financial management and consultant experience, Larry J. Calise has served as Chief Financial Officer of several publicly traded companies. He specializes in serving small to mid-size manufacturing and distribution companies, with an emphasis on assurance and accounting services as well as consulting services - including internal audit, internal control review, due diligence and performance benchmarking.
In addition to being an EABX board member, Calise serves as an advisor for the Athena Advisory Board. His professional association memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Manufacturers Association of Central Florida.
Calise received his B.B.A. degree in Accounting from Iona College, New Rochelle, NY.

Lori R. Sims, CPA
Lori Sims is the Principal in charge of the Orlando office for LarsonAllen. She leads the tax practice in the Orlando office and specializes in domestic tax services, offering tax and consulting services to individuals, businesses, trusts and estates.
Sims has more than 25 years of tax experience in public accounting. She was a Tax and Estate Partner at Chastang, Ferrell, Sims, & Eiserman LLC, which has joined with LarsonAllen. Sims spent her first three years of practice with an international accounting firm. Her background includes directly overseeing the planning, performance and review of tax engagements. She advises clients on a wide range of domestic tax issues with clients that include corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates and high net worth individuals.
Sims received her Masters in Accounting with a Specialization in Taxation from the University of Florida. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She serves on the Board of Directors for Valencia Community College Foundation as the Finance Committee Chair, and the Conductive Education Center of Orlando as Treasurer. She is currently involved with the Leadership Winter Park Alumni Association, and Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. Sims’ previous involvement includes Treasurer for the Center for Independent Living and the British American Chamber of Commerce. She also has been a volunteer for Junior Achievement and the Adult Literacy League.
