History
Fifth Third Bank opened its doors in 1858 as the Bank of Ohio Valley in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1871, the Bank of Ohio Valley was purchased by Third National Bank, which later merged with Fifth National Bank, creating Fifth Third Bank. Our Bancorp headquarters remain in Cincinnati today.

Professional History:
Erik has served in the financial services industry for 12 years, starting his career in a twelve month Commercial Banking program with Barnett Bank in Jacksonville, Florida. After completing the program, Erik was transferred to a Middle Market relationship manager role in St. Pete/Clearwater, where he helped businesses from $15MM-$250MM reach their financial objectives.
In 2000 after going through mergers with NationsBank and then Bank of America, Erik decided to move back to his hometown of Orlando, where he quickly became a top performing business banker, working at Amsouth Bank with companies from $1-10MM in revenue. Soon thereafter, he accepted a job with Southtrust Bank to ramp-up and manage their Business Banking department, a role he served in for almost five years until the company merged with Wachovia.
After the merger in 2005, Erik went to work with Regions Bank, back to his roots as a Middle Market relationship manager for a little over a year before they merged with Amsouth Bank. For over two years now, Erik has been managing Fifth Third’s business banking department, focusing on businesses with revenues up to $30 Million. During that span, the group has grown from three people in Orlando to Twenty-Four people spanning between Orlando, Daytona, and Jacksonville. In 2007, he led his group to a number one ranking in the company of eighteen affiliates.
